Maison Martin Margiela for H&M

On the 15th of November, H&M launched yet another designer collaboration, following the recent success of Anna Dello Russo (read my post on that here), and the past successes of major labels and designers including Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, Lanvin, Versace, Marni and more.
Browsing this collection I have picked out my 6 favourite pieces; I'm loving the muted colour palette - black, white and pale pink feature heavily - and those transparent heels are to die for!
On trend and a perfect balance of smart and casual.
What do you think?

Inspiration: Gigi Hadid

If you have followed LIQUORICE for a day, a week or a month you will know that it's all about fashion, inspiration and art. And you should also know that I love The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills...so it's only fitting that this weeks guest starlet, Gigi Hadid, find her way on to my blog.
And to be honest this is as much an appreciation of the wildly prolific and brilliantly talented photographer-to-the-stars Rony Alwin (who took the above photos) as it is for the unfairly beautiful Gigi!
Love all round.

Fashion Photography: Fake It Til You Make It

You may remember I interviewed Felix McCabe a month or two ago for LIQUORICE (find that here), he has since won an award for his first ever video (watch that here) and is continuing the good work.
As this is primarily a fashion blog (and I was super happy to see the LIQUORICE blog shout out on the top left hand image!) I thought it appropriate that I share Felix's newest works featuring another up-and-comer, South West based model Hazel KM.SS (find her here)! Felix has transformed these fab fashion shots in to popular magazine covers like Dazed & Confused and Wonderland, keeping his artistic integrity well in tact, and if you didn't know better you would be forgiven for thinking they were real!
Seriously talented and destined for big things.

Caroline Issa for L.K.Bennett

Caroline Issa, for those who don't already know, is the publisher and fashion director of Tank Magazine and a queen of fashion week street style.
Profiled in publications from Glamour Magazine to the Telegraph she is universally recognised for her fashion choices and expertise in the area, and it's not hard to see why. Issa keeps things simple yet playful; adding bold colours, feminine prints and details to really make her outfits exciting, literally radiating beauty. And don't forget that killer smile, the best accessory of all!

Adding to her success, she has just designed a collaborative SS13 capsule collection with L.K.Bennett that is to feature six shoes (and other items) with "neon hues, Thai-inspired embroidery and pom poms" (Olivia Bergin, Telegraph Fashion)!
Check out these sneak peek photos I have found!

Mini Haul

Life is so hectic!
I've even begun looking for easy alternatives in my fashion choices, and I've invested in a few easy-wear dresses and a simple blazer for a smarter and fresher look this season!
I couldn't find the exact blazer that I bought (mine is speckled grey) on the online store but here's a good alternative in the same casual shape from Topshop Petite (£65.00 here). Midi is the length this season, a midi length, brightly coloured denim skirt is the easier way to work the look that will suit almost everyone but I love this jersey dress, with twist detail on the front (here). I couldn't resist this bright blue printed shift dress from Miss Selfridge (here) even though there was only a UK size 4 left (thankfully it fits!) and these little Buddha earrings from the Freedom at Topshop range that were in the sale and only £3.50...!
So that's my mini haul for now and I promise I will post as often as I can but it's going to be a busy month for me! Please keep looking, sharing and supporting LIQUORICE

Valentino from High End to High Street

It is pure coincidence that I've seen another of these high end to high streets so close to my last one, it probably won't be a regular thing but sometimes it's just too good not to post about!
I don't mind something subtle that emulates (okay...copies) high end designers if there's no way I could afford the real thing (still doesn't make fake Louis Vuitton's okay though)! Today's high end to high street is the studded clutch, at home on the runway with Valentino for SS13, Missguided have come up with their own version, the 'Caresa', which isn't half bad! And at £22.99 can you really say no?

Procrastinating on a Sunday afternoon, making fashion/beauty collages instead of doing my university work.
There are a few things on here that I am dying to get; Dior Nude foundation, Marc Jacobs' Dot perfume, a perspex/resin/studded clutch, ANYTHING from Saint Laurent, and that felt hat from Reiss! Everything else is just a little bit of what I love; Johnny and Kate, croc skin handbags, Azealia Banks, bright blush in the winter, and Daphne Groeneveld.

Grimes AKA Claire Boucher

It's no secret that I love Grimes.

Not only does she make good music but Claire Boucher, from Vancouver, Canada, is the style chameleon that I (and every girl?) long to be, working everything from tom boy to sophisticated without compromising on her personal tastes.

Vogue December will contain an interview with the 'unlikeliest of pop stars' by Isaac Lock, where Claire will talk about her success so far.

Stella McCartney from High End to High Street

High End - Stella McCartney
High Street - New Look £17.99 here

You may remember I mentioned Hussein Chalayan's crazy shiney AW12 outfit before here and it seems that it's still inspiring designers from high end to high street, carrying on in to SS13.
Whilst browsing the shoes in New Look the other day I came across the above pair of suspiciously familiar heels...very similar to Stella McCartney's pearlised, almost holographic heels that I've seen in Net-a-Porter's Cruise 2013 Lookbook.
Find me something that combines this and the transparent trend and I will wear it every day in Spring!

What do you think? Love it or hate it?
