Asia has had a big influence over fashion this season as designers looked to traditional Eastern styles for inspiration. Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, at Proenza Schouler, designed square, padded, asymmetrical jackets which were teamed with wide-legged trousers and skirts that look as if inspiration for them was drawn from everything from martial arts uniforms to Kimonos. Combining these fairly masculine, minimalistic designs with delicate Chinese, Japanese and Korean prints and creating them from silk really impressed on the catwalk this season.
It's all in the detail to make this style wearable, go for simple pieces with innovative textures and exotic prints and team them with every day pieces such as miniskirts and leather leggings to tone them down, but keep them edgy.
With China rapidly working it's way to the top of the list as the world's largest luxury market and Korean pop stars modelling for brands such as Burberry it's clear that Asia is on the up and is the place to be for fashion right now!
LIQUORICE has always loved the elegant and luxurious oriental prints and styles, check out these oriental print jeans from Zara that I tried on and fell in love with during last weeks retail therapy!
